The nautical calendar next autumn brings back one of the most important boating events in Miami: the Columbus Day Regatta.

The competition, which takes place every year on or
around October 12, the date when Christopher Columbus’s arrival in America is
commemorated, gathers more than 200 sailboats in the Biscayne Bay area, in front of
Coconut Groove. The race lasts two days, this year on Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and
7th October, and it is one of the unmissable events for sailing lovers.

Although the regatta continues to be the core act of the event, in recent years, many
festivities that are actually not part of official Columbus Day Regatta activities have
emerged and grown in importance. Fun lovers can enjoy the gathering of hundreds of boats
around the finish line and musical and festive events, which feel more like a carnival, in the
Elliot Key area.

Miami Vacation Rentals, and its luxury apartments in Coconut Groove provide the ideal
accommodation for the crews of the most competitive boats.
Don’t wait any longer and make your reservations at Miami Vacation Rentals now. We
look forward to seeing you at the 2018 Columbus Day Regatta.
